There was once a time in history where great leaders were also great orators.
They were respected by their fellow countrymen, as they spoke swiftly, with tones of hope and confidence while addressing the public. They’d give rousing speeches in times of darkness, and glowing reviews in times of triumph. Their words would hush their audiences, forcing crowds to lean forward in their chairs in anticipation of the words that would follow.
So you just know that Winston Churchill is rolling over in his grave listening to today’s world leaders.

I know it’s been a rough ride. For the most part, young Jays fans don’t have any memories of Joe Carter touchin’ ‘em all, and have had to endure years of painfully mediocre teams, often plagued by injury and bad luck.

Not since the fleeting days of the heartbreaking 2011 season has the Vancouver hockey market been this positive, and that is a sentence that will come as welcome news to both players and fans.
